At Unichem Manly Pharmacy, we believe preparation is key to a safe and enjoyable trip, especially if you are headed somewhere exotic.

If you need travel vaccinations, you will need to allow enough time to get them before your travel, preferably 3 months beforehand because some vaccinations only need a single dose but others may need a few doses over a few weeks to protect you. If you are short on time, some vaccines can be given closer together if absolutely necessary.

Travel vaccines aren’t the only consideration when preparing for a trip. Before you go, especially to places with different climates, food or health risks, take a moment to think about your health:

Check vaccination requirements – you may need protection against illnesses like hepatitis A or B, or typhoid. Some vaccines

take time to work, so plan ahead. Note that Unichem Manly Pharmacy now has travel vaccines available.

• Consider malaria and insect bite prevention – not everything is vaccine- preventable. However, at Unichem Manly Pharmacy,

we are also now able to prescribe medication to help to prevent malaria plus we have strong insect repellents!

• Sort your regular medications – make sure you have enough for your trip, plus extra for delays. Carry them in your hand luggage and ask us for a medication chart or a copy of your prescription if needed at border control.

• Pack a travel health kit – include pain relief, antihistamines, anti- nausea tablets, antidiarrheals, and rehydration sachets. We have a handy destination-specific Travel Health List in store to help you pack.

• Think about the little things – sun safety, food hygiene, hydration, and managing jet lag can make a big difference to how you feel on your trip.
